WISH...

snow

I took this picture from my window the last time it snowed properly in London - 2003 I think it was.

I can smell snow in the air. I know it's snowing in other parts of the country and I just want.it.to.snow. It's a lovely winter's day: cold and bright. Just to see those little white flakes floating down would be the icing on the cake.

No, no, don't wish for snow! Once it starts, there's no telling when it will stop, at least here in Bos, less so in NY. If it would snow, look pretty, and then just disappear, I would be all on board with the snow thing. Instead it comes, and then just sits there like, well, snow.... BB

It's ok - I'm only wishing for snow in London. And that's exactly what it does: snows, then by the time you've got your boots, coat, hat, gloves, scarf and toboggan ready it's all melted.

hehe, i was living in london in 2003 and remember the snow.. some kids in my neighborhood worked for two days building a giant snow man, then the council came by and knocked it down... they said it was some kind of hazard.
???

i love london snow.

I live in the southern United State - we see a snowflake, we panic and send everyone to the grocery for milk and bread. I am not sure why, but it calls for milk and bread. and then it melts 10 minutes later.

How beautiful. And I know what you mean by the smell of snow - I can never decide if it's a smell or a feeling in the air, but I like it so much.

and what about sounds? when it snows there's this kind of muffled noise, with weird echoes all around. magical.

Yes, the snow feeling is almost a taste in your mouth I've decided. Every morning when I wake up I'm listening out for that muffled noise and then I hear sccchhhllllleeeeppp (cars driving through rain). So I stay in bed a little longer.

I swear it has been at LEAST that long since I've seen snow like this in NYC. I want a wonderland type of snow this year! This photo is gorgeous!

I'm in a mood for snow too, I'd like to adorn my head with snowflakes and hop through hyde park's bushes like a cute little white rabbit.
ciaociao see you soon in London (and maybe at the Rivoli too)

It's snowing - storybook style - outside my window right now. I love it just like this before the city traffic mucks it up.

oh la la!!! I live north of Montreal, Canada and it is snowing right now. I took one hour this morning to shovel. We already have at least 24 inches and it is not even Xmas. Come see us and see if you like snow that much after?
Louise
Note: our ski season has already begun. That is a plus.

I will give you some of the Chicago snow which ruins my shoes avec plaisir! Like rain, I love it so. Under the right circumstances. -Elisabeth

Oh you Canadians with all the snow! I've been to Montreal at Christmas time - so beautiful with all the snow, yeah except those piles of dirty snow at the side of the road.

Elisabeth - Proverb: "There is no bad weather, only the wrong equipment." This means you can buy boots!

I'm so jealous of all these people with snow. Looks like it's not going to happen here.

It snowed in Seattle Saturday and it has yet to melt. How lovely it is, but oh so cold.
