NICE SOF(I)A*...

As we know, Sofia Coppola has flawless, impeccable taste in - well, everything. This apparently includes...sofas, as she has not one, but two of my dream sofas. First there was the blue George Smith number in her New York place (below).

But in the Ultimate Paris Apartment of Wildest Dreams I kept getting tantalising glimpses of this white linen covered arrangement. First I got a peek at it in the Marc Jacobs LV documentary; then, this photo in Vanity Fair surfaced (below).

Then, there it is again with Maryna Linchuk reclining on it in the Dior ad (I'm starting to feel grubby - my furniture stalking secret is out) ...

...and we know it has a corner, as evidenced by this picture in Paris Vogue:

But now, thanks to the current steady flow of press generated by the (totally gorgeous, totally out of my price stratosphere) bags and shoes Sofia designed for Louis Vuitton and the Miss Dior Cherie ad she directed, we see more than a glimpse in Vogue Nippon.

Not that I could ever afford it - and even if I could it's bigger than my actual apartment. I guess I'll stick with the original budget plan of getting a Bemz cover for my cat scratched Ikea sofa.

*The title - I couldn't resist!

good god, her white linen sofa looks so comfortable. it's definitely bigger than my living room, but no matter. i also love her hair and her pink cardigan.

oh well, back to my boring life. maybe i need more pink?

To be young, and talented, and beautiful, and have the perfect sofa -- I can't take it any more! The the strange thing about sofas is that you go to the most ordinary looking shop, pick out something that looks nice, pick a nice fabric, and then recoil from the $10,000 price tag. In that sense, the George Smith sofas didn't seem unreasonably priced at all, just impossibly expensive! BB

yes...do love the title for the post...clever indeed! ok i too admit i too have "sofa envy" (as well as being envious of sofia and her life!!!). i first "discovered" this envy as i was at a rather cute boy's place and constantly wanted to interrupt our talk by telling him how great his sofa is....
i have reaaaaaaaally decided that you have create some sort of magazine/journal...where you take us (your readership) on these glorious strolls of how fabulous people actually live. deal???

Those dreamy sofas put my singular old one to shame... with springs that rest on the floor, the best that can be said about mine is that it is moderately comfortable.

I shall dream on... one day, one day.

Yes, they really are the sofas of my dreams too! Sofia can do no wrong, love her Vuittondesigns and I don´t really care about Vuitton otherwise.

erica - I can't even afford the Bemz covers! I love her hair that length too and I think I need more pink too.

BB - exactly! But I don't begrudge her anything because she chooses so well.

katherinemae - yes, they're always really soothing.

nancy - I would love to, but how?? but thank you, well this is it for now - no overheads you know!

gracia - I have an Ikea one with a sheet where there should be seat covers because they shrank after I washed them too much - but it's comfy too! One day, one day.

Lottie - thank you - I'll hold you to that! (hope we still know each other in 50 years as it'll take me that long to decide/save up!)

Gisele - I don't like Vuitton usually either (not too keen on the LV monogram versions of her line either) They need to let Sofia do some clothes too!

yes, that white sofa looks very much like THE PERFECT SOFA. Mine is in the same style -almost-, but this one has got much better proportions (of course!) And I love the rug too...

Oh I just love The Sofia...I wish she were my neighbor. She could live on one side and Leslie Feist on the other and all would be just so.
