I went to pick up my glasses and um, I don't really like them* at all! But the optician said no, they really suit you, especially with your job being a librarian.
I went, what? I'm not a librarian! Oh! No! I was just messing around when I was trying them on and saying oh these ones, I'm a librarian, these ones, I'm an architect etc etc.
He looked quite dismayed.
That was a little flimsy for a blog post I know. Maybe I should get Twitter?
*I have them in dark mahogany/aqua and they don't have a flipping guitar on them anywhere. I feel cheated now.

oh but what do they look like????
post a pic!
nancy
ohh i like them in gold dust, but i'm partial to lighter colored frames (or clear plastic, even). i have a pair in a similar shape, but they're made out of buffalo horn. i'm too nervous to have the lens put in them.
poor optician...
nancy - click the link! or, you mean, of them, on me? No way!
erica - this was my first time getting glasses and I now realise I did everything all wrong! I'm not even sure if my prescription is right. Whoops, there goes 300 quid byeeee...
Being a lifetime glasses girl, I must admit, every single time I get new glasses it takes me ages to actually start to like them because they change your face so much.. They take a little getting used to!
But if you really really don't like them, I'm sure you must be able to make an arrangement with your optician! Because well, you have to wear every single day, so it's important to be happy with your spectacles! ^^
you're really funny.. this made me laugh. !!!
I hated my first pair too... but I then was ten at the time! you can't ever win with glasses, at some point or other you will hate them, it just comes with the territory I'm afraid. I'm sure you'll get used to them though and they look nice! next time get cheapo ones for sure, it's not worth spending a small fortune on them if you won't be wearing them all the time (you're not, right? just for reading and computer work, non?)...
have a great weekend, enjoy the wonderful weather we're having!
Marloes is right, it takes time to adjust and I guess "grow fond" of glasses =]
I think they're not too bad- but idk, it depends on your face shape and everything. But I think you should give them a shot, maybe ask a few friends and see what they think.
Hey Lola, you glasses are great. Channel your inner librarian! By that I mean not your desire to alphabetize everything, but you know the now I'm prim, proper, and serious and then take off the glasses and you're ready to party kind of thing. I have a related problem -- everyone wants to make me look like an architect... Don't know why that happens... BB
