IT WAS ALL GOING TOO SWIMMINGLY...
As we walked into the Eurostar terminal at 6.45am the announcement said "all services are cancelled due to severe weather conditions in northern France."
Oh well! We are fine, caffeine fuelled and eating croissants anyway. I felt really sorry for all the people stranded, not able to get home for Christmas. We saw a few tears, but our trip will happen another day, another week...

A friend of mine just told me that her flight got cancelled and now she is stuck in the UK rather than spending the weekend with her family. I mean, seriously. There has been NO SNOW on the ground in Gatwick yesterday.
Aïe !!!! true...
****** ! Still , it could have been worse .... marginally . Didn't some people get stuck in the Channel Tunnel all night ?
Meanwhile I'm impressed by your ladylike calm acceptance .
Apparently 2000 people were stuck in the tunnel for 12 hours overnight with no heating or food. I don't know if that's an exaggeration, I've been in the pub all day so haven't seen the news!
Uh I'm dealing with this too. I have 7 people waiting for me in Paris to celebrate the holidays and no way to get there now. So frustrating!
Paper Ice Cream - oh, no poor you. What chaos! There are no trains today either. So, so, many people stuck here - I hope you find a way to get there...boat?
We're happy to go another time, it doesn't matter, we were just going for the weekend. But I really don't know how they're going to sort this out for people who really need to get there - all the trains next week are full already...
you know what? It's better because next time the weather will be PERFECT!
yes I thought of you actually- I'm so sorry to people who are trying to get home for Christmas and I'm glad you can go another time
