BACK TO BUSINESS IN THE MATERIAL WORLD...

1. A ticket to Paris. (Done!)

2. Where I will purchase Merci linen bedlinen - it's really overpriced but I haven't seen anything else that compares to its overdyed slubby gorgeousness, so what can you do.

3. A one day course at Nikon to tame the beast that is my camera.

4. I would really like this Mociun ring, but even better I would like to find a ring like the Mociun ring in London or Paris that's not as expensive.
5. New bumpers for Duckie: rust is so winter 2009.

6. A ticket to Lisbon, including some time at the coast somewhere (maybe Estoril?) you can sit on a beach, swim in the sea and that's not tacky or too touristy. Preferably paid for by a travel writing assignment. (Am I getting too cocky now?)

7. A suntan - and fast, whichever way. You will understand that in India one covers one's entire body with clothing and in 50 degree c heat smothers exposed areas (face, hands) in sunblock. But there are shorts that need wearing here and a tanned face and milky white body just looks odd.

8. A ticket to Field Day Festival and the knowledge of what time Phoenix are on so I can just turn up for them.

 9. That the about to be re-named Le Bouton makes this linen dress in grey again for summer. I've been dreaming about it since last year - I think that means I'm allowed to get it.

charlotte - we should investigate this possibility!

If Jane - I think turning your attention to these things makes a difference.

ephemerette - precisely! I'd preferably like to be helicoptered in and out for Phoenix's set, which I could maybe watch from a private box.

would love to see images of the linen!

Beklina me too. I've seen it in the shop, they've got all colours but when I searched online there aren't any images of it anywhere so you'll have to wait until I have it in my possession!

India, Paris, Portugal ... Jet set girl!
Absolutely loving all the wonderful pictures, mini travel tales and looking forward to a lot more. Did you buy textiles, jewellery? I would have smuggled a few kittens back to the UK. Hahaha

JS - weirdly, because India and the UK have such a connection, most of the stuff I saw was exactly the same as what you could buy in Portobello or somewhere - for the same prices, or even cheaper or certainly somewhere like the shops in Southall. Or in Accessorize (cheaper)! It was really strange! I bought a dhoti (long 4m cotton sarong that men wear as formal wear) and that bracelet which was handmade though...oh and a mahogany spoon. I was more inspired by looking, always looking at the people (and cats obvs)
