TIRED...

I've been so tired for the past few days, I don't even know why.
sleep

{I heard the air conditioning, the sound of the ceiling fan, the unfamiliar sounds of Udaipur waking up. But I couldn't place the whirring, clicking noise...

There aren't many types of summer malaise a popsicle can't cure...for that matter I just bought a 12 pack of the Limonata I'm addicted to, which is chilling as I type.

Talking of limonata, did you know that chinotto is also a citrus-based beverage? Yes, there is a bitter-tasting kind of citrus fruit called chinotto, it's so bitter you cannot actually eat it, so they make this extract with it and use it to make the drink. It tastes almost like Coke, but with a very pleasant bitter aftertaste. If marketed intelligently, it could become popular outside Italy and Malta (where it is known as Kinnie). http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinotto_(bevanda)
Apparently it does not contain caffeine, but some researchers claim that it does, lots if it!

gorgeous goregous photo...the light, the composition...
...oh i am digging the limonata addiction! (and the campari + orange juice + ice at night) that's the ticket!

Mia - Is chinotto what Campari is made from? I really have to try it next time I'm in Italy - I think it is just my drink! They need to UP their presence outside of Italy (and Malta) - it would go down a treat (with me at least)

If Jane - yes, it's the bitter taste + ice that's so refreshing. OMG also my accidental cocktail: 1 measure gin, 1 measure Aperol (or Campari)(I lost concentration - had meant to add Noilly Prat) then top up with tonic water (not soda) and ice = the best! (but bitter)

Too much heat + too much light = very tired. The earplugs and eye visor is keeping on the right side of functional, but just barely...

You know, normally I stick to tea, coffee, and vino, but right now there is not much more I can do than drink lots of *very* sparkling water (go for a German brand, failing that indeed San Pellegrino is not a bad option...)

On the citrus theme, if you can get them, get a hold of sweet lime, the preferred citrus in India. It's how we survive the heat (add to sparkling water or vodka, your choice...)

BB - I agree about the sweet lime - though whenever I had it it was always given to me, at exactly the moment I needed refreshment, which made it extra sweet!

Actually I must say, with all this talk of heat and light it's actually raining here and about 15c. I'm quite jealous that everyone else is where it's hot! I think the tiredness has to do with something else, but that won't stop me drinking Limonata by the bucketful...

oh, don't be jealous of us, here in old V there is pretty much the same heat and humidity we experienced in Kochi.
