Shh, don't tell Jean Touitou, but I've been having a secret affair with COS. (AKA Celine On Sale). It's unusual for a high street brand, albeit an upmarket one, to have me exhibiting those classic symptoms: taking weird inconvenient detours that lead me to its doors, then hey, since I just happen to be passing I may as well take a look. Followed by sighing and stroking of garments that I can actually afford to buy. The problem is that I want one of everything they've done this season, which again, I can't afford. I'm not averse to plundering the men's section for cable knit and fishermen sweaters - or duffel bags. Or scarves.
For women, there's a tiny collared shirt and some underwear, and a velvet dress, and a black leather clutch bag on my mental wishlist, but I couldn't find pictures of them on the COS website, which resists my attempts to navigate it smoothly for some reason. The photos above don't really represent my absolute faves - except the big grey sweater, which I have. Maybe I need to get a bit of secret camera action on next time I'm in there.

I am also such a fan of Cos. It is affordable in small doses, but I do know that feeling of wanting way too many things. I knew my addiction to the store was getting out of hand when last week one of the sales assistants started calling me by my first name, and said "oh hey, the Australian is back again".
Ally - Ha, that's so funny! Oh god, I don't even know where Cos is in Paris - don't tell me! My intuition will probably find it on its own.
p.s. because I'll be in Paris this week! (Just realised the above didn't make sense without explanation)
So funny to read your post this morning as my boyfriend and kids and I made what can only be described as a pilgrimage to said store yesterday. Two hours was happily spent in there! Daughter was very happy with her purchase of stripey red and blue jumper and boyfriend delighted with his new suit. I personally was after the mens grey martin margiela-esque jumper (none in my size)but was equally happy with the dress I whittled down out of 15! (although I would have been quite happy to take all of them, the velvet one included.) p.s love the blog! xxx
oh claire....cos:
4 rue des rosiers
(i love that shop...marion told me about in...ahem yet another shop not available here in gggrrrr montréal!)...
oh so happy that you are going!!!! fun fun fun!!
we have no COS here in Budapest, which is a fact i regret. these may not be your favorites, but i love these, too. especially the coats.

Haha yeh it's a little embarrassing! There are actually 2 Cos stores in Paris, and one is dangerously close to my supermarket so you can see how I sometimes just end up there when I'm meant to be buying milk.
And how exciting, hope you have a fun time!!
Anon - so good. I forgot to mention how great the kids clothes are too-and it's totally justified spending! And thanks.
If Jane - no, don't tell me! Lalala not listening - I don't have time and I'm bad enough in London! Actually that sucks because that sounds like it's where L'Eclaireur used to be, which I loved in that location.
Agnes - I'm sure it will reach you in Budapest. I love it all really.
Ally - ah, the old milk excuse, sure I've used that one.
I'm surprised we haven't bumped into each other in Cos! Aside from the odd thing from APC and Uniqlo, it is the only place I buy clothes these days. Does going there twice in one week for a different dress each time constitute a problem? I suspect it might...
Haha, I love your version of C O S (Celine on Sale!). So dead on!
COS even makes the best lingerie.. in silk.. affordable!
ohhh yes, I'm huge COS addict too, and yes, the shop assistants recognise me as well... Sometimes I feel the style is slightly too 'grown up but then, it is so classy and such a great quality. And just today i was thinking i should pop in to Cos in westfield as I need a woolen skirt for this crazy cold weather! who else on high street would do skirt in wool instead of nasty polyester, me thinks?:)
