I CANNOT STOP...

1. Ooh! 2. Immediately places top in cart...

This pile has since multiplied threefold
5. I bought the red/navy here last week.

6. But this one might be a slightly different weight from the others?

7. Send help.

ha, it's a bit sad how well I can empathise with this. And not only do I do this with stripe tops, but also, with books. I keep telling myself, 'one more won't hurt', and that 'one' ends up being a dozen. Sigh. If you find help, send it my way as well.

Hila - sigh, we're incurable.

Charlotte - oh thank you, don't tempt me. I finally got a red/navy but if you just happen to be passing and see the St. James Meridien II one in marine/tulipe size S text me! I think the red in it is more subtle than the one I have?!

no, it's excellent. you need a staple. living in nyc mine is black, naturally, but wish i had an all-purpose summer staple.... xo bb

Me too, me too, although your pile is much nicer than mine! Most of them are from thrift stores (I found a Saint-James Binic in my size, as well as a La Minor classic recently). I always tell myself 'just one more, look, the stripes are wider/thinner/a slightly different shade/assortment'. Same with grey wool sweaters, cardigans and blazers: "when this one will be ruined, I'll have a back-up!" (says the girl who never ruins her clothing, especially not her grey cardigan collection). Sigh.

A way to solve the problem would be to come and live with us. You would not like to be mistaken for a gondolier... that's why my only two striped tops are languishing in the closet.

Oh I love bretonnières too! I keep buying them, they remind me so much of when I was little. I always find really good ones at Petit Bateau.

you are in good company my friend, I can never restrain myself from buying black tops, striped tops, and skinny cargo pants; it's an obsession! :)

i opened one of my drawers the other day and saw the exact same sight. i'm just immediately drawn to stripes when i walk in a store and next things you know i'm handing over my credit card....

Lovely collection of striped shirts. I too naturally gravitate to them. Everyone needs a staple that they love wearing.
