I've spent much of my spare time this summer ambling through fields with others' dogs, photographing the novelty of sheep and cattle, always looking to the horizon. Sweetpeas and runner beans picked from the garden, sharing meals outside, cups of tea, gin & tonic at dusk, a spare bed, being with people I've known my whole life, or from the age of one, or five.

Sounds like a fine way to spend the summer. I always let out a yelp when I see livestock ambling about in fields -it means I'm really in the countryside!
